Amy of this heArt of mine was so kind to invite me back again for her seasonal series! Last time it was kite garlands for Sum Sum Summertime, and this time it’s Falling into Fall! And, yep, you guessed it! I broke out the Halloween crafty mania for her, too. This time in the form of paper spiderwebs, inspired by those paper pinwheels we all know and love from some of the greatest parties! So break out the paper and scissors and head over to Amy’s blog for the full scoop.

A special thanks again to Amy for having me over to her corner of the blogosphere!

Before I get into today’s craft (coming up next!) I have a few announcements to share. First, a big happy birthday shout out to my Mom! Happy Birthday Mom! Wish I could be there to celebrate with you! Instead, I baked and sent these. Because, when you can’t be there in person, chocolate and peanut butter make everything better, right? Plus she’s a true Ohio State Buckeye (You would know this if you ever watched a football game with her!) after all! Now on to a few other things…

October! HOW is it almost October!? For all of you bloggers, small businesses and fellow crafters out there, it’s that time again! I’m in search of October sponsors, better known around these parts as Partners in Craft and if you think your products are a good fit for Studio DIY, I want to hear from you! If you book before October 1st you’ll get 10% off. Now I know you can’t turn down a deal! For more information, check out the advertising page or email me directly at hello{at}studiodiy{dot}com.
And last but not least, Jeff and I have decided to throw a combination housewarming and Halloween party! WAHOO! We both love the holiday so much that it just seemed perfect. But here’s where you come in… I can’t make a decision, to save my life, so planning a fairly last minute party like this one is tough. But luckily I have all of you (hopefully opinionated) readers out there to help! I thought it would be pretty fun to have you all help me choose everything from the theme to the DIYs to the desserts and then you can see it all come to life when I post the party right here. What do you think!? It’s like a Today Show Wedding, except I’ll make sure all the options actually coordinate. Hopefully you’re on board because starting next week I’ll be asking YOU for your opinions, and I hope to hear from all of ya!
And that, my friends, is a wrap! Happy Tuesday, and check back in a bit for another Halloween-y DIY!

Happy Monday! You’ll see a lot of eyes staring back at you in today’s supply guide. Monster eyes! Taking on the inspiration from Friday’s palette, I’ve gathered a whole bunch of monster-fied ideas for a colorful Halloween party. I am completely enamored with this “Adopt a Monster” favor idea and I think every party could use a good dose of confetti and polka dot motifs. And that big balloon is just calling for an eyeball, or three.

With the That’s Handmade series I feel like I”m constantly saying I just can’t stand the cuteness! I’m Obsessed! The most amazing thing ever! But, really, I’m madly in love with everything I feature here. And this giant bow cake topper is most certainly no exception. I meant really, I just can’t stand the cuteness! So I said it twice! If you don’t think this is the best idea for a first birthday cake topper, I don’t know what is. I’m also pretty sure this would be awesome atop a Christmas-time cake, or wedding cake! Ooh, ahh! Dear Wed & Roses, thank you for creating such a beautiful thing.

Another week of insanity, in the best of ways… for the most part! Ironically, after my extensive safety note about these fringe lights, we had our own little fire scare here! No fringe lights were involved! I did a bit of temporary furniture moving for a photo shoot and it seems picnic blankets and hot light bulbs don’t get along too well. Let’s just say the LAFD responds quickly, but in excess. Six trucks for a little smoke! How’s that for a Thursday night!? Anyway, the rest of this week was filled with lots of DIY projects and prep, and a special feature on Ruffled! See those bindle favors below? That’s a little something I whipped up for this stunning shoot, but more on that next week. For now, have a great week everyone! It’s sure to be a busy one here!
