Melissa of Lulu the Baker is a perfect example of a great Twitter friend I’ve made through my blogging career! We chat all the time via social media, and I just can’t wait to meet her at Alt in January! I know every single one of us recalls the inspiration behind Melissa and her husband’s Britney and K-Fed costume. She pulled off the pregnant-at-Halloween challenge quite well, don’t ya think!?

“My favorite handmade costume was a very pregnant Britney Spears! My husband and I love to have coordinating costumes every Halloween (ok, I love it and he humors me!). We’ve been Little Orphan Annie and Daddy Warbucks, an angel (him) and a devil (me), and a rich couple with a pink french poodle. But my favorite coordinating costumes in the past 8 years have been pregnant Britney Spears and K-Fed. I was 9 months pregnant with our first child and we had a huge Halloween party to attend. Brit Brit had just worn her famous “I Have The Golden Ticket” tank top to the premiere of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that summer, so it seemed appropriate that I be a blinged-out, pregnant Britney for Halloween and that my husband be a very thuggish Kevin Federline. Most of both costumes were things we found around the house: a long, blond ponytail for me, baggy jeans, boxers, and a sideways ball cap for him, and, of course, lots of loud, gold jewelry for both of us! We made my “I Have The Golden Ticket” tank top with some of those fuzzy, iron-on letters and cut the extra scraps to make an arrow. The party was fun, our costumes were a huge hit, and our baby girl was born 6 days later!”
