Colorful DIY Indiana Wedding

Spring is coming, spring is coming! And spring means summer is just around the corner, too! So to get you in the bright and colorful mood of seasons to come, I’m sharing this vibrant DIY wedding from Stacy Able Photography (You may remember her from this yummy post) today. Bethany and Joe wanted to infuse local elements into every detail of their Indiana wedding, holding it at Brown County State Park, using wildflowers, serving up cornbread and fried biscuits, and handing out homemade apple butter to top it all off! Straight from Bethany herself, “Practically every thing in the ceremony and reception was some thing that was handmade, or a vintage heirloom or made us smile.” Just how a wedding should be!

Bethany’s mother and father both got their craft on for their daughters wedding: Dad creating many of the wood elements and mom whipping up a few batches of apple butter. Mmmm…

In place of a guest book, guests were asked to create quilt squares which the couple planned to turn into a new family heirloom. They also provided fun activities for the kids (and kids at heart) which I love seeing at a wedding. Creative activity pads and lawn games provided hours of entertainment, in addition to the DJ and dance floor.
