We’ve only barely gotten started on the handmade holiday palooza but I’m taking quick break to step back into warmer weather for all you newly engaged brides (It is engagement season after all!) who are planning lovely summer weddings. Kelly and Dave married last June at Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee with a bright, sunshine-y affair, and lots of modern handmade details! They chose yellow, my favorite, along with gray, my other favorite, for their palette and had their hands on many of the paper goods and pretty little details. And Andy Stenz Photography had his hands on his camera to capture it all!
Kelly and Dave made the ceremony programs themselves and I’m loving the subtle pop of yellow they added, a little trim goes a long way!
Fun fact! While snapping a few shots outside of the Brewery, the newlyweds ran into the one and only Adam Richman of Man v. Food who was there filming!
Their place cards mimicked the handmade programs, with pops of yellow now coming in the form of flower confetti strewn across the table. A great idea to steal here is what Kelly did for their DIY centerpieces. Instead of uniform arrangements, she stuck with that vibrant yellow as her unifying element and had totally unique centerpieces on each table, everything from bowls of fresh lemons to potted florals and bud vases!
The final, sweet surprise was yet another successful project from Kelly and Dave… a candy bar! Gray and yellow treats abound, guests stocked up for the post-wedding sweet cravings (and enjoyed a little taste of that modern cake, too).
